Aishling Muller is a contemporary fine art photographer and performance artist from the midlands of Ireland. She has always been fascinated by the human condition, spending her early years documenting cultures as a photographic observer.  Mid 2012 Aishling embarked on an intensive inner journey. This lead to a dramatic shift in the works she created, moving from an outsider documentary perspective to more self reflective inward creative process. By 2020 the pendulum found its middle ground as she began merging her social commentary voice with her self reflective practice.
Aishling Muller creates expanded narratives documenting times of transition and transformation both in her inner and outer world. She is inspired by nature's rhythm, death, rebirth, and the organic flow she finds in her constantly changing world, and creative process.

Concerning herself with themes of development and growth on individual, collective and environmental levels, she presents the audience with a platform for connection with the natural world and self-exploration, creating a space for reflection and expansion of awareness. Drawn to working within the purity of the natural environment, she documents those lands in the process of change by the hand of man, nature and in more recent times climate.

She creates multi-sensory installations, transforming spaces, combining photography, video, audio, performance, audience participation, sculpture, and word. Aishling uses only natural light, allowing day, time, season, and weather patterns to play an active role in her capture process.

By entering into a spontaneous process of unfolding, Aishling digitally captures traditional landscapes and self-portraits. Her eclectic works reflect simultaneously on the movement and stillness found within these dynamic times of transition. Her works step her audience into a fantasy immersed perception, contrasting the world of reality with the magic of its wonder.

Aishling shoots with a two camera Leica system with a 21, 35 and 90 mm lens kit. Aishling often shows her works within non arts spaces and tends to build each installation bespoke for a specific location and or event.

Aishling Muller, a lens-based artist from Ireland has been creating and exhibiting works since 2007. She trained with an audiovisual media degree, an MA in Art in the Digital World and many additional trainings in story telling, performance, and holistic therapies. After completing her degree in 2006 Aishling spent three months interning with the Magnum In Motion department at Magnum Photos NYC, which changed her perception on photographic reality.

In recent years Aishling has lived in Ireland, Sweden and Iceland. In Iceland she involved herself in many creative projects, film and festival productions. Aishling is a member of FISL Iceland (Icelandic Contemporary Photography Association), and delivered a TED X on Rethinking Creativity in Reykjavik in 2017. She is currently based in Ireland.

In 2021 Aishling became a role model for INSPA (Irish National School Photography Awards), and trained with the Marina Abramovic Institute in Cleaning The House, a durational performance workshop. She is also due to speak at the Irish Fashion Summit about her creative process in November. Her eclectic artworks were also recognized, awarded, highly commended, shortlisted, and exhibited as part of many international photographic, arts and cultural events.
