Find Your Photographic Voice

Ballinacree Community Association & LMETB, Ireland.
Vin, Red Cross Day Centre For The Mentally Ill, Reykjavik.  

Find Your Photographic Voice is a six-week, part time yet intensive course for adults offering a comprehensive introduction to developing visual technical skills as well as visual literacy with a photographic camera. 

It is an introductory program designed for students with little or no experience in Photography. It is hands-on, practical training that immerses students in the craft of photography, visual narrative building, camera technical skills, visual literacy, story editing, & finally exhibition preparation & installation.

Vin is a day center providing a range of activities & communal atmosphere. It is a safe haven for those suffering with mental illness in Reykjavik, Iceland. Aishling collaborated with both VIN and SEEDS to run Find Your Photographic Voice. They produced a final work for exhibition in December 2015. The theme of  was to capture the Life in Vin.

Participants met once a week for 2 hours & worked on their projects inbetween workshops. Participants hosted an exhibition of their work on completion of the program.

Course Objectives:

To equip participants with technical skills
To equip participants with conceptual skills
To develop visual storytelling literacy

To develop a body of narrative work
To develop
visual style & narrative skills
To experience working on a narrative shoot
To produce an exhibition participants work

This course was also run at Ballinacree Community Association, Meath, Ireland with a varied group from the community ranging in age and previous photographic skill sets

Aishling is a dynamic character who shows focus enthusiasm, motivation, passion & drive for her work.
She
showed great initiative in the project design, development & delivery.
