Digital Film School

Picture
The Digital Film School course is a one-week, intensive course for teenagers offering a comprehensive introduction to filmmaking. Our five-day, introductory course is designed for students with little or no experience in filmmaking. It is a hands-on, practical course that fully immerses students in the crafts of camera, lighting, sound, directing, screenwriting, editing, producing and storyboarding.
Aishling worked as a teacher for the Digital Film School for almost five years since 2006 / 2007. Throughout her time at the Digital Film School, she facilitated more than 15 week long summer film courses for teenagers, as well as a number of workshops in schools for teenagers. She was the primary teacher for 25 hours of classes each week. Aishling delivered tutorials in writing, camera work, lighting, sound recording, directing & editing.
The Digital Film Making schools objectives are:

To equip all participants with technical filmmaking skills, which they can apply to future projects. (Camera, light, sound)

To equip all participants with intellectual filmmaking skills, which they can apply to future projects. (Story telling, screenwriting, directing, editing)

To provide all participants with a working knowledge of how a crew operates.

To know the responsibilities of each role on set to ensure smooth and efficient teamwork and congruent creative vision.

To understand the filmmaking process as separate to watching a film.

To impart production skills, bring a film in on budget, working time constraints, actors availability & location access.

A weary children's book author is experiencing writers block. His new writing doesn't compare to his old celebrated works. However an important discovery allows him to see that the answer was inside himself all along.

Two students in detention discover a sinister side to their school as they try to sneak out early. As they try to find an unlocked exit, they sense an eerie presence every where they turn. Will they escape or will they be trapped forever?
