The Sabre family and their daughters, Zhala who is 17 & Zhakau who is 20 are Kurdish refugees who fled Iraq. They are currently staying in Iceland. On Monday the 24th June 2017 they received a negative verdict for their request for asylum in Iceland. They are permitted one final appeal within 7 days from their verdict. If they are denied asylum they will be deported to their original port of entry in Norway. Norway will likely deport them to Iraq.

ASYLUM SEEKERS & ARTISTS humanitarian community project. It is their intention to expand our understanding of the complexity of existence for people fleeing their homelands searching safety
